Randall (Randy) J. Skoda is President and CEO of Topco Associates, LLC, a $17.6 billion, privately held, member-owned company that provides aggregation, innovation, and knowledge management solutions for its leading food industry member-owners and customers, including grocery retailers, wholesalers, food service and pharmacy companies. As a key member of Topco’s management team for over 15 years, Randy served as Executive Vice President for more than four years prior to his role as President and CEO, where he oversaw Topco’s program management, product and brand development, innovation, and Indirect Spend groups.
Randy’s background in providing business and financial consulting services to privately held companies as President of Old Town Partners and evolving technology infrastructure solutions for complex business environments as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sayers Group LLC has given him the foresight and knowledge of identifying and evolving with industry trends. In addition, Skoda began his career at KPMG, where he worked for a decade serving the manufacturing, retail, and technology industries both in the US and internationally, as well as holding positions in KPMG’s US Executive Office as well as the KPMG International Office in Amsterdam.
Randy’s dedication to the grocery industry extends outside of Topco with his involvement on the Board of FMI – The Food Industry Association (FMI) and his participation on FMI’s Industry Relations, FoodPAC Advisory, Health and Well-being, and Communications Committees. His participation on these Committees includes partnering with other industry leaders in an effort to set goals for FMI's programs in government relations, food safety, public and consumer information, research, education, and industry cooperation.
In addition, Randy served as co-chair of the SmartLabel® product transparency initiative developed by the Trading Partner Alliance (TPA), a joint industry affairs-industry relations leadership group formed by the Consumer Brands Association (formerly the Grocery Manufacturers Association or GMA) and FMI. SmartLabel® provides consumers with easy and instantaneous access to detailed information about thousands of food, beverage, personal care, household, and pet care products via smartphone, computer, and telephone.
Randy is a member of the GS1 US® Board of Governors. GS1 US, a member of GS1 global, is a not-for-profit information standards organization that facilitates industry collaboration to help improve supply chain visibility and efficiency through the use of GS1 Standards, the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world. This committee guides the GS1 US strategy to drive the adoption and use of GS1 Standards that support supply chain visibility, product traceability, e-commerce operations, regulatory requirements, and increased consumer demand for product information.
Randy has earned degrees in accounting and finance from Baylor University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
