Angela Fields is a member of the Coordinated Outbreak Response Evaluation and Emergency Preparedness. During her tenure at FDA, Angela has dedicated her career to implementing robust systems that safeguard consumers and enhance public health through the development and implementation of science-based policies, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and advancement of data-driven strategies to improve food safety outcomes. In her role in CORE Response, Angela leads and supports multidisciplinary efforts to detect, respond to, and prevent foodborne disease outbreaks providing epidemiologic, traceback and analytical data expertise related to outbreaks in support of FDA’s response activities. Angela also serves as one of CORE’s traceability subject matter experts to help promote harmonized traceability standards and best practices. She contributes to agency initiatives such as policy development and implementation, focused on enhancing supply chain transparency and traceability. Additionally, Angela supports educational and outreach initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and preparedness among industry partners, government agencies, and the public for outbreak response and traceability.
