Jennie Stitzinger, Manager of Global Standards at GS1 US, loves attacking obscure problems with creative solutions and tangible impact. Growing up in a farming town and a Penn State University's Agricultural College of Science graduate, Jennie has always had food systems and agriculture in her blood. Previously, at the Institute of Food Technologists' Global Food Traceability Center, she coordinated the Americas effort on the Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability helping the seafood industry adopt GS1 Standards to allow for a more humane, sustainable, and traceable seafood supply chain. Jennie joined GS1 US in 2021 bringing her background in food traceability to the Standards team. In her role, Jennie collaborates with the food industry stakeholders to apply GS1 Standards in support of FMSA 204 requirements. She also plays an active role in supply chain visibility initiatives. In her free time, Jennie enjoys cooking, gardening, and doing everything she once believed she never could.
