Gwen Volpe, RPh, LSSBB, DPLA, FASHP, serves as Senior Director of Medication Technology Programs and Strategic Partnerships at Fresenius Kabi. In this role, she cultivates strategic partnerships, drives initiatives to advance the safety and efficiency of Fresenius Kabi products with technology, and fosters thought leadership opportunities. Gwen’s career in pharmacy spans more than 30 years, encompassing leadership positions in hospital, long-term care, medication automation, and the pharmaceutical industry.

She is an active member of several professional organizations and advisory boards, including the GS1 US Healthcare Executive Leadership Committee, the Thriv Coalition Advisory Board for IV Accuracy, Advisory Board Member for healthcarediversion.org, and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation Priority Advisory Group for Medication Safety. Gwen also participates in the healthcare committee of the RAIN RFID Alliance and the AIM Pharma workgroup, focusing on the use of AIDC technologies in healthcare.

Gwen is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has held leadership roles within the Section Advisory Group for Operations and Automation, as well as the Section of Informatics and Technology.
Gwen is a Fellow of ASHP, received the 2022 ASHP Distinguished Service Award and in 2023 was honored with the AIM Paul Berge International Business award for her advocacy for RFID in healthcare.
